Our institution is now adopting a writing across the curriculum initiative. We are having a long series of e-mail discussions on what constitutes a writing intensive course...by the way I reach at a women's college in Virginia--Sweet Briar College. Many of my colleagues are convinced that the traditional essay or the research paper are the ways we will best hone our students' writing skills. I have stumbled on to RhetNet through Judy Williamson's paper on Zines and the Resistant Writer. We need help before we go the torturous routes of re-inventing the wheel. Any ideas would be appreciated.
