Hello Ian,
Your call for papers for _Space & Culture: The Journal_ was
forwarded from Penn's cfp list to Rhetnt-L (a list associated with
_Rhetnet: A Cyberjournal https://wac.colostate.edu/rhetnet/). After the
call was on the list, one of our list members posted a reply in which she
quoted one of the sentences in your call and mentioned that that language
of the call was hard to understand because it was specialized.
A discussion is brewing about academic jargon. I suggested that
since the discussion was sparked by your call, that we should invite you,
and other members of your editorial team, onto the list to talk about the
call. Questions raised were ones of audience for the call, reasons for
basing it in a particular theory with a particular vocabulary, and other
such concerns.
To see the conversation to date, you can turn your web browser to
/rhetnet/jargon . Your call the discussion which
has so far flowed from it are there.
If you would like to join the discussion, you can do so from the
web site itself, or you can join the list, a listserv list. To join,
address e-mail to:
listserv@mizzou1.missouri.edu
Leave the subject line blank.
In the message area write: subscribe rhetnt-l Ian Roderick

The list owner (and chief _Rhetnet_ editor) is Eric Crump; he can be
reached at wleric@showme.missouri.edu

I hope this invitation doesn't catch you at bad or too busy
time. The list would benefit from your input and on the members' behalf
I thank you in advance for your consideration.

Cheers!
