The Network is an informal community of teachers, researchers, and institutions with shared interests in WAC.

Northeast Writing Across the Curriculum Consortium

NEWACC supports research-based WAC practices, program development, and assessment.

CompPile

CompPile is the leading bibliographic database in composition studies, providing listings of work published in composition and rhetoric since 1939.

REx

REx (the Research Exchange) supports scholars who seek mentoring and a public forum for sharing their work. This peer-reviewed site is sponsored by the WAC Clearinghouse and CompPile.

WAC-GO

WAC-GO seeks to increase mentoring to and support for graduate students with an interest in Writing Across the Curriculum. WAC-GO is supported by the WAC Clearinghouse. Visit its pages on the Clearinghouse and on Facebook.

Consortium on Graduate Communication

The Consortium on Graduate Communication is an international association whose members provide professional development in written, oral, and multimodal communication to students before and during their (post-)graduate academic and professional programs. CGC members work with graduate students in their first and second/additional languages.

WAC Summer Institute

The WAC Summer Institute assists new and prospective leaders of WAC/WID or similar initiatives in the US and internationally in planning and developing their programs. The Institute alsos support experienced directors who face new challenges or wish to expand, update, or revitalize their programs.

Bedford Bits

Bedford Bits: Ideas for Teaching Composition provides access in archival form to teaching tips and observations on teaching and learning created by leading scholars, authors, and editors.

Writing Programs Worldwide

Writing Programs Worldwide is an open-access platform for teachers and scholars to talk about individual or departmental initiatives that assist how writing is taught and learned in their locales. It grows out of the same team and project that brought us the Perspectives on Writing collection, Writing Programs Worldwide.

Following a series of initial conversations about the formation of a national organization for WAC, progress has been made by the planning committee for the Association for Writing Across the Curriculum. 2019 WAC Summer Institute in Preparation

Asao B. Inoue's book, Antiracist Writing Assessment Ecologies: Teaching and Assessing Writing for a Socially Just Future, was awarded the Council of Writing Program Administrators Outstanding Book Award at this year's conference. The Lucille M. Schultz 19th Century Composition Archive

This collection houses high-quality reproductions of materials that Professor Schultz gathered during her 26-year career at the University of Cincinnati. With 257 entries representing the period from 1785 to 1916, it includes rhetoric textbooks for college students, picture books for early primary school students, and more than 100 grammar handbooks. About IWAC 2018

The International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference will be held at Auburn University on June 4-6, 2018. The conference theme, "Making Connections," emphasizes how WAC fosters connections: within and across institutions and programs, between people and positions, and among ideas and practices. In a historical moment when divisiveness, rancor, and disconnection are so pervasive on the national and international stage, our theme aims to underscore the power of collaboration, integration, inclusion, and the search for common ground. Early Bird registration for IWAC 2018 is now open. The early bird rate is $350 for full-time faculty, staff, and administrators and $250 for students, high school teachers, and part-time faculty.

The Clearinghouse relies on a large, distributed network of colleagues who work together to develop and maintain our Web site, manage our lists of resources, and publish our books and journals. Because of their dedicated efforts, our costs are low and our books and journals are all published in open-access formats. We still incur costs, however, and welcome your support.
