The WAC Clearinghouse

Volume 1, June 1989

The Origins of The WAC Journal: The WAC Journal, entitled the Plymouth State University Journal on Writing Across the Curriculum, came into existence when Toby Fulwiler, who had helped Plymouth State University create a WAC program in 1986, returned to campus to help with WAC in 1989. After listening to the faculty talk about the WAC things they had done, he said, "Share your experiences. Let people know what you're doing." The journal served as a local newsletter for writing-across-the-curriculum activities for roughly the first decade of its existence. See p.47-58 of Volume 4 for more PSC WAC history.

Please note that the first four volumes of the WAC Journal were converted to PDF's "searchable image" format. Two drawbacks are associated with this format: file sizes are larger and formatting errors may occur when pasting selected text into another electronic document. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.
